I know this is our WBR blog but I stumbled across this triathlon that looked like fun. It is the Daybreak Tri for Huntsman Cancer Research. I know you all will have the racing bug after the WBR and will be looking for the next adventure. This just might be it. Check it out!

p.s. I got my stitches out today and am excited to start running again. I have done my elliptical 4x this week so I hope I can pick up where I left off with the running. I hope the weather stays nice so everyone can get some Vit D and run outside :)

Quote of the Week!
"Running is a big question mark that's there each and every day. It asks you, 'Are you going to be a wimp, or are you going to be strong today?'"

Taking a little break
Well, today I am going in for carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand. This puts me out for any running training for a week to 10 days. I will be starting from square one once I can start running again. Aaaarrrggghhh! I wouldn't even get the surgery but my carpal tunnel is so bad my hand is numb while sleeping, swimming, biking, sitting, laying down. It is pretty much numb most of the time. Lame! So keep up the good work girls and I will just have to train that much harder to catch up.
Wish me luck!

Music?
I need some really good music to listen to out there on the road. I am so sick of all my songs on my ipod. I want to know what you all rock out to while you are jogging your little hearts out. Then lets put together a killer mix tape (ha ha what am I? In the 80's?) to listen to. I think this will really help me out this week. Because for some reason its been way harder for me to get motivated this week then last.
Happy Running to all.
Happy Running to all.

Quote of the Week!
"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start" -John Bingham
**The quote above is by far one of my favorites for running! I have subscribed to Runner's World now for over 13 years and John Bingham is one of the best athletic writers. His monthly articles are always so inspiring. I highly suggest you read them! His claim is "No need for speed!" I hope you all are enjoying your runs!
I finally ran outside on Sunday in the gorgeous weather and I loved it! It is been well over a year since I had done this and I realized how much I missed it! My 8 miles were slow but I made it through them!
Keep up all the great work!
Happy Trails-

I ran TODAY!!!!!!
I am so glad it is over.
Today was really hard, i kept wanting to stop...but stayed strong.
The problem with me is my brain lets me talk my way out of it..
I wish I had more will power.
Glad I get a break tomorrow.

prepare for long post
I've been feeling so great that I think I'm going to jump ahead to the week of Feb. 15 on the novice training program and run 4 times this week for 15 min. each. (that's only one week ahead) I like when I'm ahead of schedule... it gives me some breathing room just in case! :) Loving this though, I'm so excited to be able to run more and longer!
Three summers ago I ran a half marathon (it's been my claim to being in shape for the last three years..."oh yah, I ran a half marathon...a couple years ago, but still...") But here's just a little motivation for you all. When I started training for this race I could run 1/2 mile--barely. I ran 1/2 mile three times the first week, 1 mile three times the second week, 1 1/2 miles the third week, 2 miles the fourth week and so on until I could run 10 miles. Then I ran the entire 13 point whatever miles with adrenaline, having fun and pushing myself along the way! It helps me to think back to this and know that I can do anything! And you can too! No matter where you are beginning. On the days you don't want to run, just do it... You won't regret doing it but you will regret not doing it! I also ran a couple of 5k's and a 10k while I was training and that was fun to get into the spirit of racing! So maybe we should sign up for a few before the big relay... I'd love to if anyone else does too!
Oh yah... and last night I had a dream that we won the relay. Only it was an indoor obstacle course (picture olympic gymnastics mixed with american gladiators) and for the awards ceremony we had to wear matching prom dresses... but our team didn't bring any and we were wearing jeans. Then I woke up.

Let it Snow, let it Snow..
So I woke up this morning all ready for a little jaunt and I walked out side to Snow! (Gotta love Utah). Now normally I would have walked right back in and curled up in bed, but not today. Thanks to a friend in my neighborhood that was meeting me at 6:55 a.m. I put my shoes on and headed out the door. I went out and ran for a good 25 minutes and it felt great today even with the snow. Guys I think that I might be able to do this.

Yesterday I felt like a runner....
I finally got my Friday run in on Sunday night. I ran in a beautiful state park outside of Phoenix. Instead of a 15 min run I did 30 and felt great the whole time. I was even able to control my speed and do some intervals. Was it the lower Arizona elevation that made this run so great? I don't know but I think I felt the 'runner's high'. Happy training this week.

Rain, Rain Go Away!!
Stuck inside the fifth wheel with babies and family!! I wish I was running! Whit is helping me through this new blogging process right now! Thanks Whit! Are we sure we are in Arizona? It is raining like CRAZY!!!!
Thank goodness for ipods!
I finally made an effort to run on the treadmill at the gym. I did a solid 30 mins (3 miles). It wasn't fun. Running on the treadmill is never fun! Fortunatly, I had some good music and made myself push through it. At the end it felt good, more than good!! I can't decide if running on the treadmill or running outside with the double stroller & whinny kids is better. Who knows?!!
Speaking of good music; I want to hear the playlist that you have been rockin to while running . . .

So tired.....
I did my fifteen minutes on friday but was a bit tired from working out before that. It was alot better since I ran at a 7.0 this time instead of a 7.8 so I could catch my breath the whole time. Knowing that everyone else is running is such a good boost while I am. You go girls.......

Barely 15
I got my 15 minutes in today. But BARELY!!!! I ran a little over 1 mile.
***Only problem I have been having is bad headaches after I run..Any ideas??

I am such a giver
My jogging stroller wouldn't fit when we packed the van and the truck for Arizona so I had to leave it behind. I really wanted to go for a run Friday but Dustin had a day full of his own race stuff and I got the shaft. All day I said to myself, "If only I had my stroller I could go for a run". But since I am such a giver I will let Dustin do his race thing Friday and Saturday and I will run on Sunday. It is no big deal. Plus, my legs are still sore from body pumb on Wednesday.

Whitney
stepped it up two notches...
I did my second fifteen-er today and I ran at 4.4 on the treadmill instead of 4.2! haha That is so slow, I know! But I have short legs and I've been sick so... whatever. At least I did it and it felt good! I can't wait to find matching outfits... .

15 Felt Good
Whitney here. I did my fifteen minutes of running on the treadmill Wednesday and it felt good. I just ran at a comfortable 5.5 pace and could have gone longer but I was late for a body pump class. Now my legs are so sore and I wish I would have just taken a hot bath like Lindsay. Ha, Ha! Can't wait to run in sunny AZ tomorrow. Happy training!

NO PAIN, NO GAIN!!
I am so excited to hear that everyone is running!! I can not even begin to tell you all how excited I am about this whole thing. I have not worked out in years, but I am loving getting back into the swing of things. Along with the suggested training I started these crazy work-out videos that Erin let me borrow. I can not even explain how sore I am! I had to take 3 Motrin today so that I can even walk. Not to sound cheesy, but I keep reminding myself "NO PAIN, NO GAIN". Good Luck Everyone!!
I took the day off....
I was going to run outside this morning, I even had my workout get-up on. But plain and simple it was just to damn cold, and a hot bath sounded more relaxing while the kids were @ school. :)
But I did run 2 miles on Monday
and 1 Mile yesterday.
My body is SORE...but in a good way. I'm loving it!
Hopefully tomorrow the hot bath doesn't tempt me.
My First Run
I did my first run today! Just a good old 15 minutes on the treadmill, just like the training program said....

Way to go girls.....
It sounds like everybody is doing great and is really motivated. Good job Jessie for running outside and thanks to Lindsay who motivated me to do my run yesterday. I was having a hard time running cause I trained right before with my trainer but I knew I had to get in my first 15 minute run on the treadmill. So to get me through I thought of Lindsay earlier that morning running 2 miles in 20 minutes prior to me ( you go girl ). So I kept thinking Lindsay did it so can I so thank you Lindsay. Yeah girls keep it up cause it's only going to get harder but we can do it.....
I can do it..you can do it..
